This limited edition palette from NARS caught my eye a few weeks ago on Anna’s blog, and I completely fell in love with it. I’ve been getting into cool colors lately, and the matte grey shade is something that I don’t already have. Knowing I could use all the colors- and that NARS powders in general are amazing- I justified the purchase and picked it up.
In order (left to right; top row, then bottom row) the shadows are: Alhambra, Bellisima, Kalahari, Galapagos, Coconut Grove, and Night Clubbing. My favorite shades out of the palette are the two matte ones: Bellisima and Coconut Grove. Bellisima looks great in the crease with a light, shimmery color. Coconut Grove is so pigmented, and I loved using it as a liner and in my outer V. I know this is a really popular color, and you can buy it in single form- which I would definitely recommend doing! It’s so versatile, and I would definitely purchase it on its own. Ironically, I didn’t fall in love with either of the two light colors in the palette (Alhambra or Kalahari.) They weren’t super pigmented like some other eyeshadows I have, and Kalahari had a lot of fallout.
I haven’t used Night Clubbing yet, but the swatch was beautiful. It’s such a deep black, and I think it will be so beautiful as a liner. I used Galapogos just as a liner shade the other day, and it was really pretty.
As for the things that came with the palette, I loved the eye primer, but the brush was just okay. The eye primer was really creamy and dried quickly, and helped my shadows stay all day. The eye primer that I usually use, the LORAC one, comes in a squeeze tube, and I really enjoyed using the NARS one with a wand applicator. It made it much quicker to apply, and I would definitely consider purchasing it in the future. The brush that came with the palatte was so dense and stiff that it was hard to get a lot of the shadows on it. It was super soft, but it was just a little bit hard to work with for me.
I’ll do a post soon and show pictures of some looks that you can do with this palette, which will be way more helpful! But in the meantime, I would definitely recommend this palette if you use neutral eyeshadows as much as I do! I can’t find it on the NARS website anymore, but when I picked it up at Sephora, they had several left. 🙂
I know that wasn’t super in-depth, but I hope it was at least a little bit helpful. Leave me a comment if you have any extra questions, and let me know if you end up picking it up!
