I would definitely say that I’ve had a go-to look throughout the summer. I’ve loved smoky, taupe eyeshadows, pink lips and cheeks, and highlighted skin. I’ve used the same products over and over again, but I have really loved what I’ve been using lately. I was really excited to put together this favorites post and share all of the things that I can’t seem to put away.
First of all, my Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Warm Ivory has made a huge comeback into my routine in the recent weeks. I’ve tanned just a little bit more throughout the summer, so this undereye concealer looks a little bit lighter on my skin tone right now and gives me a lot of brightness under my eyes. If you’re interested in this concealer, I would definitely recommend using your fingers to pat it in. I find that it cakes if I try to smear it around or buff it in with a brush.
Another favorite concealer is the Covergirl Concealer Balm in “fair.” This is definitely my favorite concealer that I’ve ever tried- I love it for both to spot conceal and under my eyes. I know I’ve mentioned this concealer many, many times on my blog, but I can’t talk about it enough. The formula is really smooth and moisturizing, it covers really well, and I don’t have a problem with it being sticky, thick, or cakey. I will definitely be digging the last little bits of product out of this tube and buying another one ASAP when I run out!
The NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base has become my favorite primer. This one is a little mini that I got with the And God Created Woman kit, and I have loved using it. The formula is much lighter than the other primers that I’m used to, and it blends in and dries much more quickly. I’ll definitely be purchasing the full size of this one once I can get through a small army of eye primers.
Covergirl “Tapestry Taupe” eyeshadow has become my favorite everyday shadow. I love that I can wear it on its own during the day, or add a darker color into my crease and wear it out to dinner. The tone is just slightly on the cool side, and I think it compliments brown eyes very well. I would definitely recommend that you try this one out, especially for just a few dollars at the drugstore.
I have been loving the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in “Underground” to smudge on my lower lash line. The color is pretty similar to the Tapestry Taupe eyeshadow, and I love wearing them together. These pencils are creamy, but they set and last really well all day. I’ve been using this one almost every day and absolutely love it. (Please make “Underground” an eyeshadow, Urban Decay. Please.)
I have gotten a ton of use out of the NARS “And God Created Woman” palette. I love using the three bottom shades as eyeliner, which I have probably done every day for the last three months. I mostly use the lower middle shade, Coconut Grove, because it isn’t too warm or too cool, and it’s a rich matte shade that looks really natural as liner. I never would have purchased this eyeshadow on it’s own, because I never wear eyeshadow that dark, but it looks so beautiful as liner, and I could see it being valuable in any makeup collection.
Finally, the LORAC “Spotlight” highlighter. I am so sad that this is almost gone, and I’ve definitely been saving it. I’ve started using it as an eyeshadow as well as a face highlighter, and that isn’t really helping my cause to keep it around. In the end, it’s the prettiest, most natural highlighter that I’ve ever used, and I will gladly spend money to replace it once it’s gone… no matter how painful it is.
