MAC Nocturnals Pigments and Glitter: Silver and Violet

‘Tis the season… for the MAC Holiday Collection! I didn’t know anything about the MAC Nocturnals collection until I saw it online a few weeks ago, and I was so excited when I saw it. After much deliberation, I decided that what I needed the most was the pigments, because I could really use some more eyeshadow. Honestly, though, I just loved how sparkly it was.
Reasonings aside, the silver and violet kit was a perfect fit for me: I loved the mix of everyday shades and fun ones that I could save for special occasions. I don’t have any MAC pigments, so I thought it would be a great way to try them out. Also, the packaging is really chic- I love the striped lids.

Vanilla is probably the most wearable and versatile color in the set. It’s a warm golden cream color that works great all over the lid or as a highlight. It blends really nicely and it doesn’t take much product to get a great finish out of it.
Kitchmas is my favorite color out of the set. It’s a beautiful cool-tones lilac color with silver reflects in it. It’s not shimmery, but it isn’t as smooth in texture as vanilla is.
Push the Edge is a limited edition deep purple with blue duochrome. It is really pretty, but easily dupe-able, I think.
Grey glitter is a deep gunmetal grey color with a slight blue tint to it. It’s really gorgeous, and it catches the light really well. I’m really excited to use this on my lower lash line for a special occasion.
Pink glitter is a warm hot pink glitter. It also is very reflective, and picks up the light really well.

Side notes:
-MAC glitters aren’t officially “eye safe,” so be careful how you use them.
-No-Brainer, but these are so messy. Swatching them was honestly a nightmare.
-The only Limited Edition color in this set is Push the Edge.
-Temptalia counted the value of the set to be around $70, so it’s a good value for money if you’re interested in the colors.

I won’t get a ton of use out of most of these colors, but I’m really excited to have them in my collection for days that require special makeup. On the other hand, Kitchmas and Vanilla have been moved up to become my most-used eyeshadows. I’m really glad that I got this set, and I would definitely recommend it!
