I do realize that it is Thursday and that the weekend was approximately four days ago, but it was my fall break and I’ve been tramped by a metaphorical herd of homework elephants.
This past weekend was my annual girls’ weekend with my mom, Mrs. Kathy, and Katey. We spent the day at the Opryland mall and got our makeup done at the Cosmetic Market. The rest of the day included Biscuit Love, Starbucks, about two dozen cookies, and some swanky high-waisted flair jeans from H+M [post possibly coming once I figure out what to wear them with. In the meantime, read Vikka’s awesome post about styling them here that inspired me to get them in the first place.]
Into the important part: when they did our makeup [shoutout to the girl who did mine- she was awesome and I think she said it was only her third day working there? We bonded over Jaclyn Hill and winged eyeliner tips. That friendship could last a lifetime.] She used the LORAC Pro Matte palette on me, and I fell in love with it. It was my first experience with LORAC eyeshadows, and I couldn’t believe how nice they are. Super soft, crazy pigmented, and they blend amazingly. I adore matte eyeshadows so it was a no-brainer for me to pick up. So worth the money. Swatches coming soon.
Watching this video from Estee Lalonde (Essiebutton if you’ve been around for a while) introduced me to NARS Luster blush, and I’ve been sold ever since. It’s sheer and slightly glittery, but once you wear it for an hour or so most of the glitter is gone and you’re left with a perfect warm golden color.
Essie Vanity Fairest is my favorite nail polish of all time, this is my third bottle. I’ve been out of it for a couple of months, couldn’t justify buying a new one, and then finally missed it enough to buy another one. I had some Target gift cards left over from Easter [how they made it this long I have no idea] and I bartered them away for the Maybelline lipsticks. I wanted some new fall colors because I get bored easily, so I picked up “Warm Me Up” and “Maple Kiss.” New colors, check.
I just printed off a fifteen page article that I have to write an essay on tomorrow morning, so I’ll be back under the herd of elephants for the next twenty four hours… but then it will be the weekend again! I’m out of money, so no more hauls will be happening, but I am going to an Edward and Jane concert, so expect some posts over the weekend.
Happy (almost!) Weekend!
